Printer Types
For most homes, a typical laser jet or ribbon cartridge printer is more than suitable. The typical printer types are a great fit for most printing needs. Some may simply print text in very fine quality, while other printer types create stunning photographs. Regardless, these printer types are available to the average consumer at an easy to afford price. While there is some range in capability, the average household printer is not much unlike the next household printer. There are some greater variations in printer types, however. Unique and Still Not Unattainable Some interesting printer types on the market let you go farther, literally, in your printing. Portable printers work with most computers. Sometimes these mobile printers are even ‘plug and play’ not requiring a driver to be installed on each computer used. If you only need a portable notebook printer, that will be always used with your personal notebook computer, then the need for a driver is not inconvenient. Your portable printer may also have the option of wireless use or battery operation for ultimate flexibility. Another way to make your printing ‘go the distance’ is to use postcard printers. These handy machines create beautiful color and standardized postcard mailing information. Printer Types for Those Lofty Thinkers If you are in need of printing that goes beyond everyday household and personal printing needs, there are some fantastic advances in printer types for you to investigate. Professional printers have gone leaps and bounds beyond the typical printer types. Screen printers allow you to make clothing worthy to go on the trendiest clothes rack, except that the designs are all your own. Wide format printers make it possible to print more than an 8 ½” X 11” sheet of paper. These printers, or a fancy a3 printer, will allow you to print posters of realistic proportions or maps to a reasonable scale. It’s true that printer types have come a long way and allow for incredible capabilities, but the most exciting of the printer types is probably the 3-d printer. 3d printers use a similar concept to the inkjet, but they actually print three dimensional objects by layering their material of choice into whatever model you ask it to print.
