Printer switch
There are switches all through our world. Lights turn on and off with a flick of a switch, as well as our electronic equipment. A printer switch does not necessarily mean on and off, however. Printers have an array of switches that help your printer function at its best. If you know what each switch is for, you will have an easier time interpreting your printer’s messages and when you push a printer switch, you’ll get the expected and desired results. Types of Manual Printer Switches There are all kinds of printer switches designed to help you communicate with your printer. Some printers have screens to alert you to which printer switch will be helpful for any given situation, but if yours doesn’t then a quick look through the printer switch section of your manual will be very helpful. Here are a few examples of printer switches that may be useful to you. A printer a/b switch could be for a couple of different things. You may have multiple paper trays from which the printer draws paper. Turn the printer switch between a and b in order to select your desired paper size. The usb printer switch will allow you to turn power on and off to your usb device in order to safely remove it. A usb switch may also allow you to alternate between usb devices that are plugged into your computer for direct printing. If you have more than one camera, for example, this printer switch would allow you to choose which one to print from. One other switch is the ‘OK’ switch, used to tell the printer to continue once it has flipped an automatic switch. Types of Automatic Printer Switches In addition to manual printer switches, there are some automatic printer switches which will engage when the situation requires. These switches are for printer security. They will generally cut power or stop the job in progress in order to prevent serious damage to the printer. There are two main security printer switches. The printer fault switch is for electronic emergencies. A power surge, for example, would engage this printer switch. Another automatic printer switch is the jam switch. As is probably obvious from the name, this printer switch engages when there is a paper jam. It will not cut power to the printer, but this printer switch stops the printing in progress so as not to further jam the printer and cause mechanical damage.
