HP 1315
As human beings we’re naturally suspicious. Especially with electronics, when we see something that looks great and is really inexpensive, our natural reflex is to say “Hold on a minute,” and recoil in wonder. We’ve all been ripped off before; blatantly or inadvertently and none of us desire to have that experience replicated. So it’s best to be cautious before purchasing anything and fully investigate. That’s what we’re here to do with the very inexpensive HP 1315 printer. The 1315 printer from HP has its strengths and weaknesses. First off it’s affordable; very reasonable pricing give the 1315 from HP a head up on the pack to start. It’s also an all-in-one printer, scanner, and copier. In terms of experiences with this unit, folks have pretty well agreed that the printing and copying abilities of the HP 1315 are on or above par for its cost. It has good color abilities, is easy to use, and the HP 1315 is cheap. Its low cost makes it preferred against other printers in the same class. However, like all good things, there were some drawbacks. With its cost, the speed of printing could be a little bit faster. Also, for an all-in-one it is lacking a fax, which has come to be synonymous with most other all-in-one’s in the current market. The printing has also been reported to be loud, which can annoy some to no end. Some other individual concerns were more specialized but just because they weren’t widely reported doesn’t mean that they won’t happen to you. More than one user reported “bad feed” – in other words, they had to manually push the paper through. Some people reported the scanner didn’t always scan straight, despite best efforts to feed it through or set it up straight. Also technical problems with some users forced their hand to retire their units early rather than see them through to a full and joyous life. So now it’s up to you. The HP 1315 is a very inexpensive all-in-one model, which, if you have no need for fax might suit you just fine. But check with your local retailer first and make sure that you’re not getting a used model; if it was someone else’s and they had problems with it, well, you can only imagine what problems may come.
