Epson C88
The C88 Printer from Epson falls into the category of budget printers. The upside is the price, but the overall quality of the printing is a little disappointing compared to what you may have seen from Epson in the past. Strengths The Epson C88 printer’s biggest strength is its price. A discount Epson C88 printer would come in around $80. You can even find used cheap C88 printers for less than that. Additionally, it prints photos fairly well on photo paper. For a discount printer, the C88 from Epson printed fairly quickly at just over 5 pages per minute. Finally, it prints 44-inch long banners, which is virtually unheard of. Weaknesses There is no wireless C88 available which puts it behind newer printers on the market that do offer as much. Additionally, the print quality for text was a little disappointing for many who claim the ink appears closer to gray than black. This was especially true with larger type on the print outs. Additionally, the larger color prints were printing at a tedious pace of about four minutes. That ranks it far behind other printers even in the same price range of the C88. Overall, you will find that the Epson C88 printer has no qualities that make it stand out in particular. In fact, it is a little disappointing compared to a lot of the other offerings of the Epson Company. However, for the price you are getting it for, a C88 would not be too bad. The best advice you could get, though, is to make sure you shop around and make sure it is going to give you everything you want in a home printer. Shopping for It If you are interested in a C88 printer at a discount price, then you will have to do some shopping around. Thought it averages around $80, you may even be able to find it for less if you look around. Try local office supply stores and the internet. Comparison shopping should lead you to a C88 at the best possible price for you. So shop around to make sure, but for a discount price you may be happy with the C88 printer.
