Dell 740
When ordering a Dell notebook, you will almost always be offered a free Dell 740 printer. This will be part of your computer package and the printer is free, so there is no reason not to take it. Having said that, you should go into your time with your Dell 740 printer with your eyes wide open; the printer is free and thus not exactly state of the art.

Pros
The number one upside to the 740 printer is that it costs you nothing. There is no real discount Dell 740 inkjet printer on the market except for what comes with your machine. You get it with the computer whether you want it or not and that is something. If you do not want a printer, though, ask in case they are offering other freebies.

Additionally, the output on it is not awful. Considering it’s a free printer, the 740 from Dell produces a pretty nice product. This is not bad if you are getting it for free and do not do a lot of printing. Why buy a new printer when you get your Dell 740 printer for free?

Cons
Remember the old adage: you get what you pay for? Well this Dell 740 printer is sort of why that adage still exists. It is cheaply made and will break easily if it is dropped or bumped or maybe even if you look at it wrong. In addition to that, it runs pretty slow. If you want a printer with any speed at all or with some durability, then save your money up and buy a new printer.

Finally, since it is free there are no available accessories. Don’t bother looking for Dell 740 camera accessories. Also don’t try to turn it into a wireless Dell printer; it isn’t even worth the effort. It is what it is: a free printer that you can use for a limited time. For that, though, it might be worth using as a stop gap until you can get a higher end printer that will help you more.
