Brother HL-1440
The Brother HL-1440 printer is a decent buy for the money. It is fairly capable as an office printer, and could conceivably be used as a home printer. The HL-1440 works with several different software packages and is PC and Mac compatible. Because of this, the HL-1440 will very likely work with your computer setup. Count on decent speed, great print quality and is ready for upgrades. (If you do need your printer to be able to operate with more than the standard memory, consider the cost of the upgrade in your original purchase price).

To get a cheap Brother HL-1440 printer is not too difficult. Because the HL-1440 is not wildly capable, look up discount Brother HL-1440 printers and you’ll probably find something that is well within your price range. The Brother HL-1440 is cheap without a doubt, but is it the printer for you? It is not a typical Brother wireless printer, though it is networkable. Even though the HL-1440 is networkable, it doesn’t have a really large paper capacity. It can however print on a wide range of media, including legal sheets. The Brother HL-1440 camera accessories are not very useful. The HL-1440 prints only in black and white. Again, this may be OK, depending on your printing needs. Look below for other printer specs.

This monochrome HL-1440 printer from Brother is a laser printer with decent resolution. You will be happy with the clear and defined text printing this machine can put out, reliably and consistently. The HL-1440 may not be a versatile printer, but it does produce high quality. One complaint I have with the HL-1440 is that it does not consistently last very far past its 1 year warranty. It may be a factor of how well taken care of it is, but it does not seem that the HL-1440 is durable for all of its other great qualities. If you buy, buy new. If you do find an HL-1440 for sale used, take extra precaution to find out in what condition it is.
